Liquid Damage Inspection – Nintendo 2DS
The Liquid Damage Inspection service by Console Wizard is a comprehensive diagnostic process designed specifically for Nintendo 2DS consoles that have been exposed to liquid or moisture. Liquid ingress can cause hidden corrosion, short circuits, and component failure that are not always visible during a basic external check. This inspection allows our engineers to accurately assess the extent of the damage and determine whether a reliable repair is possible.
The inspection fee covers the initial diagnosis and professional disassembly of the 2DS, followed by a detailed internal examination of all major components. As part of this process, our engineers carry out an internal cleaning of the console and its internal printed circuit boards (PCBs). This cleaning removes liquid residue, corrosion, and contaminants that may interfere with accurate testing. Proper cleaning is essential to stabilise the hardware and enable meaningful diagnostics, as liquid damage can mask or mimic other faults.
Once cleaning and inspection are complete, our engineers perform in-depth testing to identify the specific problems caused by the liquid exposure. Based on these findings, we will advise whether the console is repairable and provide a clear repair quotation where possible.
Please note that the liquid damage inspection fee is non-refundable. The fee covers the time, expertise, and resources required for disassembly, cleaning, and diagnosis, regardless of the final repair outcome. In some cases, liquid damage may be too severe or widespread to allow for a successful repair.
If a repair is deemed possible and you choose to proceed, any repair costs are charged separately and are additional to the liquid damage inspection fee. The inspection fee does not contribute toward the final repair cost.
