Console Wizard provides PSP 1000 liquid damage inspection for £29.99. This is the inspection or diagnosis charge; any further repair is quoted separately.

Has your Sony PSP 1000 suffered liquid or water damage and now won't turn on, switches itself off, won't charge or has controls that no longer work correctly? Console Wizard provides a professional PSP 1000 liquid damage inspection and cleaning service for £29.99.

Liquid-damaged consoles require a different diagnostic process from normal hardware faults because contamination, residue and corrosion can affect multiple components and circuits. The PSP must first be dismantled, internally cleaned and inspected before our engineers can accurately assess the damage and determine whether a reliable repair is possible.

    PSP 1000 Liquid & Water Damage Inspection – £29.99

Our dedicated Sony PSP 1000 liquid damage service covers the initial work required to dismantle, clean and assess a console that has been exposed to water, drinks or other liquids.

    • PSP 1000 professionally dismantled
    • Internal liquid contamination cleaned
    • Internal components and motherboard inspected
    • Liquid residue and corrosion assessed
    • Electronic damage investigated
    • Repairability professionally assessed
    • Customer contacted with our findings
    • Separate repair quotation provided where repair is possible

The £29.99 charge is a non-refundable inspection and cleaning fee. Any additional repair work or replacement parts required are charged separately and will be quoted after the PSP has been inspected.

What Is Included in the £29.99 PSP 1000 Liquid Damage Inspection?

The inspection fee covers the specialist work required before meaningful diagnosis of a liquid-damaged PSP 1000 can take place. The console needs to be dismantled so that contamination and corrosion inside the device can be identified and cleaned before the extent of the damage can be assessed.

    • Professional dismantling of the PSP 1000
    • Internal cleaning following liquid exposure
    • Inspection for corrosion and contamination
    • Motherboard and internal component assessment
    • Investigation of liquid-related faults
    • Assessment of whether a reliable repair is possible
    • Repair quotation provided following inspection

    • The £29.99 inspection fee is non-refundable and any subsequent repair and parts are charged separately.

Common PSP 1000 Liquid Damage Symptoms

Liquid damage does not always cause a PSP 1000 to stop working immediately. Moisture and contamination can affect different areas of the console, resulting in a variety of symptoms depending on where the liquid has entered and which components have been affected.

    • PSP 1000 completely dead or not powering on
    • Console powers on and then switches off
    • PSP no longer charging
    • Buttons or controls not responding
    • Display or backlight problems
    • Intermittent or unusual operation
    • Visible corrosion or signs of liquid contamination

Because several different faults can result from the same liquid spill, selecting a normal repair based only on the symptom may not identify the full extent of the damage. Liquid-damaged PSP consoles should therefore be booked using this dedicated inspection service.

Why Does Liquid Damage Need Cleaning Before Diagnosis?

Liquid entering electronic equipment can leave contamination and residue behind even after the visible moisture has dried. This contamination can contribute to corrosion and can affect components, connectors and electrical circuits inside the PSP.

Cleaning the affected areas allows our engineers to inspect the PSP more accurately and establish what damage remains after the contamination has been dealt with. This is why the liquid damage inspection is different from our standard PSP 1000 fault diagnosis service.

Is the £29.99 the Complete PSP 1000 Liquid Damage Repair Price?

No. The £29.99 charge covers the initial dismantling, cleaning, inspection and assessment required for a liquid-damaged PSP 1000. It is not the final repair price.

Once the console has been cleaned and assessed, our engineers will determine what additional work and replacement parts are required. Where a reliable repair is possible, we will contact you with a separate repair quotation before the additional work is carried out.

    • The £29.99 liquid damage inspection fee is non-refundable and is not deducted from any subsequent repair cost.

Can Every Liquid-Damaged PSP 1000 Be Repaired?

No. The extent of liquid damage can vary considerably. Some PSP 1000 consoles may require relatively limited additional work after cleaning, while others can have extensive corrosion or damage affecting multiple components and motherboard circuits.

The purpose of the inspection is to establish the condition of the console and determine whether a reliable repair is technically and economically practical. We cannot guarantee that every liquid-damaged PSP 1000 will be repairable.

The inspection fee remains payable even where the damage is too extensive for a successful repair because it covers the dismantling, cleaning and assessment work already carried out.

What Should I Do if My PSP 1000 Gets Wet?

If your PSP 1000 has been exposed to liquid, avoid repeatedly trying to power or charge the console to see whether it still works. Where practical, stop using the device and arrange for it to be inspected.

Do not assume that the console is safe simply because it starts working again after drying. Liquid residue and corrosion can remain internally even when the outside of the PSP appears completely dry.

PSP 1000 Liquid & Water Damage FAQs

How much does PSP 1000 liquid damage inspection cost?

Our PSP 1000 liquid damage inspection costs £29.99. This covers the initial dismantling, internal cleaning and assessment required before any additional liquid damage repair can be quoted.

Is the £29.99 the complete liquid damage repair price?

No. The £29.99 charge covers the inspection and cleaning process. Any additional repair work and replacement parts required are quoted separately after the console has been assessed.

Is the £29.99 liquid damage inspection fee refundable?

No. The £29.99 fee is non-refundable because it covers the dismantling, cleaning and inspection work carried out regardless of whether the console can ultimately be repaired.

Is the £29.99 deducted if I proceed with the repair?

No. Unlike our standard fault diagnosis fee, the liquid damage inspection fee is not deducted from the subsequent repair price because it covers the additional cleaning and inspection work required specifically for liquid-damaged equipment.

Can you repair a PSP 1000 that won't turn on after getting wet?

Possibly. No power is one of the symptoms that can occur following liquid damage. The PSP first needs to be cleaned and inspected to establish what components or circuits have been damaged and whether a reliable repair is possible.

Can liquid damage cause my PSP 1000 to stop charging?

Yes. Liquid contamination or corrosion can affect charging and power circuitry as well as connectors and other internal components. The inspection allows us to establish the actual cause of the charging problem.

Can every liquid-damaged PSP 1000 be repaired?

No. Some consoles can suffer extensive corrosion or component damage that makes a reliable repair impractical or impossible. The inspection is used to determine the extent of the damage and whether further repair is viable.

Can I send my PSP 1000 to you from elsewhere in the UK?

Yes. Console Wizard provides a UK-wide liquid damage inspection service for customers who cannot visit our Bolton repair centre.
