Our Nintendo DS Lite USB-C mod costs £49.99 and includes the appropriate 5.1kΩ CC resistors, allowing the modified console to charge using both USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C cables with suitable USB power sources.
The USB-C connection is for charging only and does not add USB data-transfer functionality.

USB-C Installed in the Original DS Lite Charging Port Location
Our modification does not add an additional charging socket elsewhere on the Nintendo DS Lite.
The original Nintendo charging socket is removed and the new USB-C socket is installed in the same original charging-port location.
The conversion is permanent. Once modified, the original Nintendo DS Lite charger can no longer be connected and the console is charged through its new USB-C port.
USB-A to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C Charging
Our Nintendo DS Lite USB-C modification supports both:
• USB-A to USB-C charging
• USB-C to USB-C charging
This means the modified DS Lite is not restricted to USB-A charging sources.
The modification includes the appropriate USB-C CC configuration so that suitable USB-C power sources can correctly detect the console as a device requiring power.
5.1kΩ USB-C CC Resistors Fitted
Correct USB-C charging requires more than simply fitting a USB-C shaped socket.
USB-C uses Configuration Channel connections, commonly referred to as CC lines, which allow a compatible USB-C power source to detect that a device requiring power has been connected.
Our Nintendo DS Lite USB-C conversion includes the appropriate 5.1kΩ CC pull-down resistors. This allows the modified console to support suitable USB-C to USB-C charging sources as well as conventional USB-A to USB-C charging.
Charging Only – No USB Data Transfer
It is important to understand exactly what the Nintendo DS Lite USB-C modification provides.
The newly installed USB-C connection is for charging only.

The modification replaces the function of the original Nintendo charging connection. It does not add data functionality that the original DS Lite charging port did not provide.
Can the Original Nintendo DS Lite Charger Still Be Used?
No. The original Nintendo charging socket is physically removed as part of the USB-C conversion.
After the modification, the original Nintendo DS Lite charger can no longer be connected to the console.
Your Nintendo DS Lite will instead be charged through its newly installed USB-C port.
USB-C Modification for a Damaged DS Lite Charging Port
The modification can also be a useful option if the original Nintendo DS Lite charging socket is already physically damaged or unreliable.
Common charging-port symptoms include:
• Nintendo DS Lite not charging
• Charging cuts in and out
• Charger needs moving to make a connection
• Charger needs holding at an angle
• Charging plug feels loose
• Charging socket is visibly damaged
• Charging socket has become loose from the motherboard
Rather than fitting another proprietary Nintendo charging socket, the damaged port can be removed and the console converted to USB-C charging.
Damaged Charging Port Motherboard Pads or Tracks
Physical damage to the original Nintendo DS Lite charging socket can sometimes also damage the motherboard connections underneath the port.
If our engineer discovers repairable charging-port motherboard pad or track damage while carrying out the USB-C conversion, the required repair is included within the standard £49.99 price.
There is no additional track-repair charge for repairable motherboard damage associated with the original charging socket as part of this service.
