Have you cracked or smashed the front glass on your iPad 9, or is the touch screen no longer responding correctly?

Console Wizard provides a professional iPad 9 screen repair and front digitizer replacement service for the Apple iPad 9th Generation 10.2-inch.

For £99.99, we replace the damaged front glass and touch-sensitive digitizer while retaining your original LCD display underneath where it remains fully working and undamaged.

This repair is suitable for cracked glass, smashed screens and touch-screen faults where the LCD itself is still displaying the picture correctly.

A successfully completed repair receives our standard 3-month warranty covering the original repaired fault.

What Does the iPad 9 Screen Repair Replace?

The iPad 9 screen consists of separate components.

The outer glass and touch-sensitive layer form the digitizer, while the LCD underneath produces the actual picture.

    This service replaces the:

    • Cracked or smashed front glass
    • Touch-sensitive digitizer

Your original LCD is retained where it remains fully functional.

This is important because an iPad can have badly smashed front glass while the LCD underneath continues to produce a perfectly normal picture.

Common iPad 9 Screen & Digitizer Problems

This repair may be suitable if your iPad 9 has:

    • Cracked front glass
    • Smashed or shattered screen glass
    • Touch screen not responding
    • Certain areas of the screen not responding to touch
    • Intermittent touch response
    • Ghost or erratic touch input
    • Damage around the edge of the front glass

If the picture underneath the damaged glass remains clear and normal, the LCD may still be completely functional.

Cracked iPad 9 Glass but LCD Still Working

A cracked iPad screen does not necessarily mean that the complete display needs replacing.

If your iPad still displays a normal picture with no lines, black areas, ink-like marks or other LCD damage, it may only require replacement of the front glass and digitizer.

Our engineers carefully remove the damaged digitizer and fit the replacement while retaining the original working LCD.

This is exactly what this £99.99 iPad 9 screen repair is designed to cover.

iPad 9 Touch Screen Not Working

The digitizer is responsible for detecting your finger movements and touch input.

A digitizer can therefore be faulty even when the LCD underneath continues to display a perfect picture.

Possible digitizer symptoms include areas of the screen that do not respond, intermittent touch operation or unwanted touch inputs.

Where the fault is caused by the digitizer, replacing the front glass and touch assembly can restore normal touch-screen operation.

Important – This Repair Does Not Include the LCD

This £99.99 repair is for replacement of the front glass and touch digitizer. It does not include replacement of a damaged LCD underneath.

If the impact that smashed the glass has also damaged the LCD, an additional charge will apply for the LCD repair.

We will contact you if additional display damage is found before carrying out additional chargeable repair work.

How Do I Know if My iPad 9 LCD Is Damaged?

The LCD is the component underneath the digitizer which produces the picture.

Signs of LCD damage can include:

    • Vertical or horizontal coloured lines
    • Black areas on the display
    • Ink-like marks or spreading dark patches
    • Distorted colours or image
    • Sections of the picture missing
    • Backlight working but no correct image
    • No visible display despite the iPad powering on

These symptoms are different from simply having cracked outer glass.

If you are unsure whether your LCD is damaged, we can inspect the iPad and advise you.

What if Both the Glass and LCD Are Damaged?

A heavy impact can damage both the front digitizer and the LCD underneath.

If we find that your LCD is also damaged, the additional LCD replacement is not automatically carried out as part of the £99.99 digitizer repair.

We will advise you of the additional repair required and the cost before proceeding.

Important Information About the iPad 9 Home Button

The iPad 9 has a physical Home button with Touch ID fingerprint functionality.

The original Home button is electronically paired to the iPad's original logic board for Touch ID.

During a normal digitizer replacement, the original Home button is carefully retained and transferred to the replacement digitizer wherever it remains undamaged.

If the original Home button or its ribbon cable has been damaged by the broken screen, it may need to be replaced.

A replacement Home button can restore normal button operation, but Touch ID fingerprint functionality will not operate with a replacement button because the original fingerprint sensor is paired to the iPad's logic board.

Why Do We Retain the Original Home Button?

Retaining the original Home button is important because it preserves the original Touch ID pairing between the fingerprint sensor and the iPad's logic board.

Where the original button and ribbon cable remain intact, our engineers carefully transfer the original assembly during the screen repair.

This is one reason why iPad digitizer replacement requires considerably more care than simply removing broken glass and fitting another screen.

What Is Included in Our iPad 9 Screen Repair?

Our professional iPad 9 glass and digitizer replacement includes:

    • Professional dismantling of the iPad
    • Removal of the damaged front digitizer
    • Replacement front glass and touch digitizer
    • Original working LCD retained
    • Original Home button retained and transferred where undamaged
    • Touch-screen functionality testing
    • Display testing
    • Professional reassembly
    • 3-month warranty covering the original repaired fault

    Professional iPad 9 Digitizer Replacement

Replacing an iPad digitizer requires the damaged front assembly to be carefully removed without damaging the LCD and internal components underneath.

The original Home button also needs to be carefully removed and transferred where it remains intact.

Our engineers professionally dismantle the iPad, remove the broken digitizer, prepare the device for the replacement and install the new front glass and touch assembly.

The display and touch-screen operation are then tested before the repair is completed.

Why Retain the Original iPad LCD?

If your original LCD remains completely functional, there is no reason to replace it simply because the outer glass has been damaged.

Retaining the original LCD allows the repair to concentrate specifically on the damaged component.

The replacement digitizer provides the new front glass and touch-sensitive layer while the original LCD continues to produce the display image.

Can I Continue Using an iPad 9 With Cracked Glass?

An iPad may continue working after the front glass has cracked, but damaged glass can deteriorate further with continued use.

Loose or sharp fragments can make the device uncomfortable or unsafe to handle, while further pressure on the damaged screen can potentially affect components underneath.

If the glass is badly shattered or beginning to separate, we recommend avoiding unnecessary pressure on the damaged area until the screen has been repaired.

This repair is for compatible Apple iPad 9th Generation 10.2-inch models including A2602, A2603 and A2604.

Different iPad generations use different digitizers and internal components, so it is important to select the correct repair for your device.

If you are unsure which model you own, check the model number on your iPad before ordering or contact Console Wizard for assistance.

    iPad 9 Screen Repair FAQs

How much does an iPad 9 screen repair cost?

Our iPad 9 front glass and digitizer replacement service is £99.99.

Does this repair replace the LCD?

No. This repair replaces the front glass and touch digitizer while retaining the original LCD where it remains fully working.

My iPad glass is smashed but the picture is fine. Is this the correct repair?

Yes. If the LCD picture remains normal and only the front glass or touch digitizer is damaged, this is the appropriate repair service.

What if my LCD has lines or black marks?

Lines, black areas, ink-like marks and image distortion can indicate LCD damage. An additional LCD repair may therefore be required.

Will I keep my original Home button?

Yes, wherever it remains undamaged. We retain and transfer the original Home button so that its original Touch ID pairing can be preserved.

What happens if my original Home button is damaged?

If the Home button or its ribbon cable has been damaged and requires replacement, normal button operation can be restored with a replacement part, but Touch ID fingerprint functionality will no longer operate.

Does the repair have a warranty?

Yes. A successfully completed repair receives our standard 3-month warranty covering the original repaired fault. New accidental screen damage is not covered.

Can I bring my iPad 9 directly to you?

Yes. Local customers can bring their iPad to Console Wizard at 517 Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, Greater Manchester, BL2 3BG.

Can I send my iPad 9 to you?
