How often should a laptop be serviced?
There is no single interval suitable for every laptop. Machines used for long periods, gaming laptops and laptops used in dusty environments can require cooling maintenance more frequently than lightly used machines.
Does laptop servicing include replacing the thermal paste?
Yes. Where the cooling design uses replaceable thermal compound and access is appropriate, the existing compound is removed and replaced during the service.
Will servicing make my laptop quieter?
If excessive fan noise is being caused by dust restriction or poor heat transfer, servicing can reduce the amount of work required from the cooling fan. A mechanically worn fan will require replacement instead.
Can servicing fix an overheating laptop?
It can resolve overheating caused by dust, restricted airflow and cooling-system maintenance issues. Overheating caused by a failed fan or other hardware fault may require an additional repair.
Do you check the battery?
Yes. The battery is checked for obvious problems such as swelling. If replacement is required, we will contact you before carrying out additional work.
