Why Can There Still Be Scratches After an LCD Replacement?
If scratches remain visible on the outside of the top screen after an LCD replacement, this does not mean that the faulty LCD has not been replaced.
The replacement LCD is fitted underneath your existing protective outer lens. Because that outer lens is retained and refitted, any cosmetic scratches or marks already present on it will still be visible.
This £84.99 service is specifically for replacement of the LCD display underneath the lens, not cosmetic replacement of the outer screen cover.
Nintendo 3DS XL Bottom Screen Repair
We can also replace the bottom Nintendo 3DS XL LCD screen for £84.99.
Bottom-LCD faults can include coloured lines, black patches, missing areas of the picture, distortion, a blank display or physical internal LCD damage.

The bottom LCD and touch-sensitive digitiser are separate components. If the existing touch digitiser is working correctly, it is retained and refitted during an LCD replacement.
Bottom LCD or Touch Screen Fault?
The lower Nintendo 3DS XL display contains a separate LCD screen and touch-sensitive digitiser.
The LCD produces the picture. The touch digitiser detects input from the stylus.
