A worn or failed internal fan can make your Switch OLED noisy or allow it to overheat. We inspect the cooling system and confirm whether the fan is faulty.
Console Wizard provides this service from our Bolton repair centre for £69.99, with UK-wide mail-in available. Existing options and any service-specific additional charges are explained below.
This service is for Nintendo Switch OLED HEG-001. The console has an OLED display and detachable Joy-Con. Original Switch, Lite and Switch 2 have separate model categories.
Fan noise, overheating and other shutdown causes
Grinding, rattling or a fan that fails to turn can indicate a damaged fan mechanism. Overheating warnings and shutdowns can also have other causes, including restricted airflow or a fault in the fan’s supply or control circuitry. Normal warmth during play does not by itself establish that the fan needs replacement.
We inspect the cooling system and fan operation, identify whether the fan itself is faulty and carry out the advertised replacement and relevant checks. The repaired console is checked for fan operation and cooling after reassembly. A different power or motherboard fault is discussed separately. Tell us whether the problem starts immediately, after sustained play or only with particular symptoms.
Diagnosis and repair method
We replace the faulty fan and renew the thermal compound on the processor as included in this service. We check fan operation and cooling after reassembly.
Stop using a console that overheats and keep ventilation openings clear. Tell us about noise, warning messages or shutdowns.

Parts, work and testing included
• Faulty internal fan replaced
• Cooling and fan operation tested
• 3-month warranty on the original fault
• Nintendo Switch OLED Fan Repair – £69.99
Price and warranty
The service costs £69.99. The £20 diagnostic fee is deducted if repair proceeds and retained if repair is unsuccessful, unrepairable or declined. Postage is separate.
Completed repairs include a three-month warranty on the original repaired fault, starting on the repair date. It does not cover unrelated faults or new damage.
Other motherboard or power faults can also cause shutdowns and are quoted separately if found.
Previous repairs and additional damage
Please tell us about any previous repair attempt, liquid exposure or impact, including parts already replaced. Damaged connectors, lifted solder pads, broken tracks or missing components can change the work required. A previously opened console can be assessed; any additional repair scope or charge is explained before proceeding.
The booking covers the fault and parts described on this page. Unrelated faults, extensive damage and a replacement motherboard are not automatically included. Back up accessible data before sending your device; fault assessment or repair cannot guarantee data recovery.
