    PS5 HDMI motherboard

Is your PS5 HDMI port damaged, loose or showing No Signal even though the console powers on? Console Wizard provides professional PlayStation 5 HDMI port repair and replacement for £79.99.

Our engineers professionally remove the damaged HDMI socket from the PS5 motherboard and install a genuine PS5 replacement HDMI port before inspecting the connections and testing the console for correct HDMI output.

If the HDMI socket has been torn from the motherboard and damaged the underlying solder pads or tracks, an additional £30 motherboard track repair charge applies. We will contact you before carrying out this additional work.

    PS5 HDMI Port Repair – £79.99

The HDMI socket on the PlayStation 5 is soldered directly to the motherboard and requires specialist equipment and component-level soldering skills to replace correctly.

    Common PS5 HDMI Port Problems

A damaged PlayStation 5 HDMI port can produce several different display and connection problems.

    Common symptoms include:

    • PS5 powers on but displays No Signal
    • No picture on the television
    • HDMI cable feels loose inside the socket
    • HDMI port is visibly damaged
    • Bent or broken pins inside the HDMI socket
    • HDMI socket pushed into the console
    • Picture cuts in and out
    • Intermittent display
    • Picture changes when the HDMI cable is moved
    • HDMI cable no longer fits correctly
    • Console dropped or knocked while the HDMI cable was connected
    • HDMI socket torn away from the motherboard

If the socket is physically damaged, professional HDMI port replacement is normally required rather than repeatedly trying different cables.

    PS5 No Signal Repair

One of the most common symptoms of a damaged PS5 HDMI port is a console that appears to turn on normally but produces no picture.

The television may simply display a No Signal message even though the console lights and cooling fan appear to operate.

If pins inside the HDMI socket are bent, broken or no longer making the correct electrical connection, the PS5 may be unable to transmit its video signal correctly.

Replacing the damaged HDMI port restores the physical connection between the PlayStation 5 motherboard and the HDMI cable.

However, No Signal does not automatically prove that the HDMI socket is faulty. A physically intact port can have other HDMI circuitry or motherboard faults, and a PS5 that is not completing its normal startup sequence can also produce no display.

    PS5 HDMI Port Replacement

The PlayStation 5 HDMI port is soldered directly to the motherboard. It is not a plug-in component that can simply be disconnected and exchanged.

The console must be professionally dismantled and the motherboard removed before the HDMI socket can be accessed correctly.

Our engineer then removes the damaged port using specialist component-level soldering equipment before installing the replacement HDMI socket.

The HDMI connections are professionally inspected before the console is reassembled and tested for correct display output.

    Genuine PS5 HDMI Port

For this repair, Console Wizard uses a genuine PS5 HDMI port.

We do not fit a modified PS4 HDMI port that has been adapted to physically fit the PlayStation 5 motherboard.

Using the correct genuine PS5 HDMI socket allows the damaged component to be replaced with the appropriate HDMI port designed for the console.

PS5 HDMI Port Torn From the Motherboard

Sometimes the damage extends beyond the HDMI socket itself.

If the PS5 is dropped, knocked or the HDMI cable is subjected to significant force while connected, the socket can be physically torn away from the motherboard.

When this happens, the HDMI port can pull solder pads or electrical tracks away from the motherboard.

Installing another HDMI socket alone will not repair these missing electrical connections. The damaged motherboard pads or tracks must first be professionally reconstructed before the replacement HDMI port can operate correctly.

Motherboard Pad or Track Damage – Additional £30

The standard £79.99 PS5 HDMI port replacement assumes that the motherboard solder pads and tracks underneath the HDMI socket have not suffered significant physical damage.

If inspection reveals that the damaged port has torn pads or tracks from the motherboard, an additional £30 motherboard track repair charge applies.

This additional work can involve reconstructing missing electrical connections before the new HDMI socket can be securely fitted and operate correctly.

    • Standard HDMI port replacement – £79.99
    • Motherboard pads and tracks inspected during repair
    • Additional track reconstruction only charged where required
    • Additional motherboard track repair – £30
    • We contact you before carrying out the additional £30 repair

Why We Cannot Always See Motherboard Damage Before Inspection

Motherboard pad or track damage cannot always be identified simply by looking at the HDMI socket from outside the console.

A badly damaged-looking HDMI port can sometimes still have intact motherboard connections underneath it, while a socket that appears less severely damaged externally can have lifted or torn pads hidden beneath the port.

The PS5 therefore needs to be dismantled and the HDMI area inspected before we can establish whether additional motherboard reconstruction is required.

If additional £30 track repair work is necessary, we contact you before proceeding.

PS5 HDMI Port Repair After a Drop or Knock

HDMI port damage commonly occurs when a PlayStation 5 is dropped or knocked while an HDMI cable is still connected.

The cable can act as a lever against the socket and place considerable mechanical force on both the HDMI port and its motherboard connections.

This can bend internal pins, loosen the socket, push the port into the console or tear the HDMI connector away from the motherboard.

If the console has suffered this type of damage, avoid repeatedly inserting or moving the HDMI cable because further movement can place additional stress on the damaged connections.

    Loose PS5 HDMI Port

If the HDMI cable feels unusually loose or the picture changes when the cable is moved, the socket may have suffered physical damage.

A loose connection can result from damage to the internal HDMI pins, the socket itself or the connections securing the port to the motherboard.

If moving the cable temporarily restores the picture, avoid continuing to hold or force the cable at an angle. This can worsen existing physical damage to the HDMI port or motherboard connections.

PS5 HDMI Picture Flickering or Cutting Out

A damaged HDMI port does not always result in a permanent No Signal message.

Damaged pins or electrical connections can cause an intermittent picture, flickering, temporary loss of signal or a display that changes when the HDMI cable is moved.

If the socket is physically damaged, professional HDMI port replacement can restore the physical connection.

If the HDMI port is physically intact, additional diagnosis may be required because intermittent display faults can also originate elsewhere within the HDMI circuitry.

PS5 HDMI Port or HDMI Cable?

Before assuming that the console itself is faulty, it is sensible to test the PS5 with a known-working HDMI cable and compatible television input where the HDMI socket is not visibly damaged.

If another cable works correctly, the original HDMI cable may be responsible for the display problem.

However, if the PS5 HDMI port is visibly bent, loose, pushed in or has damaged pins, repeatedly inserting different cables is not recommended.

A damaged HDMI cable or plug should also not be connected to a newly repaired PS5 HDMI socket.

    Professional Component-Level HDMI Repair

Replacing a PS5 HDMI port requires component-level motherboard work rather than simply exchanging an external socket.

Our engineers professionally dismantle the console, remove the motherboard and use specialist soldering equipment to remove the damaged HDMI port.

The HDMI area is inspected for physical motherboard damage before the genuine replacement socket is installed.

Where additional motherboard pad or track reconstruction is required, this is carried out as specialist component-level repair and charged at the additional £30 rate after contacting you.

What Is Included in the £79.99 PS5 HDMI Repair?

    PS5 HDMI Port Repair FAQs

How much does PS5 HDMI port repair cost?

Our standard PS5 HDMI port replacement costs £79.99. If the damaged HDMI socket has torn solder pads or tracks from the motherboard, an additional £30 motherboard track repair charge applies. We contact you before carrying out this additional work.

Do you use a genuine PS5 HDMI port?

Yes. This repair uses a genuine PS5 HDMI port rather than a modified PS4 HDMI socket adapted to fit the PlayStation 5 motherboard.

How do I know if my PS5 HDMI port is damaged?

Common signs include No Signal, no picture, a loose HDMI connection, bent or broken pins, a pushed-in socket, intermittent display or a picture that changes when the HDMI cable is moved.

Can a PS5 show No Signal without having a broken HDMI port?

Yes. No Signal does not automatically mean the physical HDMI socket is faulty. HDMI circuitry, motherboard faults or a PS5 that is failing to complete its startup sequence can also result in no display.

Can you repair a PS5 HDMI port that has been torn from the motherboard?

Yes, where the motherboard damage is repairable. If the HDMI port has torn solder pads or tracks from the motherboard, those electrical connections need to be reconstructed before the replacement socket can operate correctly. The additional track repair costs £30.

Why does motherboard track repair cost an additional £30?

A standard HDMI repair replaces the damaged socket where the underlying motherboard connections remain intact. Torn pads or tracks require additional component-level reconstruction, which involves extra engineering work beyond the standard port replacement.

Will you charge the extra £30 without asking me?

No. If inspection identifies motherboard pad or track damage requiring the additional £30 repair, we contact you before carrying out that additional work.

Can a damaged PS5 HDMI port cause the picture to flicker?

Yes. Damaged HDMI pins or connections can cause intermittent display, flickering, temporary No Signal messages or a picture that changes when the cable is moved.

Should I keep moving the HDMI cable if that makes the picture work?

No. If moving the cable changes the picture, the socket or its motherboard connections may already be damaged. Continued movement can place additional mechanical stress on the port.

Can I add a PS5 Full Service at the same time?

Yes. The Full Service can be added for £20 when carried out alongside the HDMI repair. It includes internal cleaning, fan and heatsink cleaning, airflow cleaning and renewal of the liquid-metal thermal interface.

Does the HDMI repair include a warranty?

Yes. A successfully completed PS5 HDMI port replacement includes our standard 3-month repair warranty covering the original repaired fault. Subsequent accidental or physical damage is not covered.

Can I bring my PS5 to you in Bolton?

Yes. Local customers can bring their PlayStation 5 to our repair centre in Bolton, Greater Manchester, during our normal Monday to Friday opening hours.

Can I send my PS5 from elsewhere in the UK?

Yes. Console Wizard provides UK-wide PS5 HDMI repairs with courier and postal options, including DPD collection directly from your address and return delivery from £24.99 depending on your UK location.
